Paint Out Suffolk takes place 5-7 July around the idyllic seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk heritage coast.

Come and capture the height of summer in this popular countryside and coastal location, from the marshes to the sea. Southwold hosts all the attractions of a working lighthouse, colourful beach huts, an award-winning pier, busy harbour, cliff-top cannon, home to Adnams brewery, and of course the bustling beach in British summertime. Nearby are Reydon marshes and the river Blyth.

Paint Out is a leading plein air art competition since 2014 inviting artists in all media to enter and participate. This is our 11th year with over 20 events under our belt across 3 counties and we felt a return to Suffolk (we last painted Sudbury in 2018) and to the coast was well overdue. A breath of fresh air and sea air.

Individual, weekend and multi-day choices available. Priced from £50/day or full long weekend pass £120 covering Friday to Sunday. Early bird pricing till 31 Mar 2024.

We expect 40-50+ artists and have extensive systems and staff supporting contactless logging of start and finish giving artists great freedom with daily timings and locations, professional video and photography, social media team sharing on 4 platforms, a covered exhibition space, prestigious judges and prizes, optional dinners, food and drink, and a hub including a cafe and free car parking.
